Why I Started Building My Own Tools: The Journey to Content Automation

Introduction: From Passion to Process

Image 1

When I began working on Brilliant Supply Chain in June 2022, all I had was an idea—and a relentless drive to make it real. That passion quickly became a double-edged sword. I was energized, yes—but also overwhelmed. Every day brought new challenges: building a website, creating content, recording videos, designing visuals, managing platforms, and somehow finding time to schedule it all consistently.

Despite giving it my all—sometimes working all 24 hours—it felt like I was always playing catch-up. After nine months of non-stop hustle, burnout hit. I paused and asked myself a question that would change everything:

“Isn’t there a smarter, more sustainable way to build BSC?”

The answer was yes. But it required a complete shift in mindset.

Frustration to Innovation: The Pivot Point

That pause became a pivot.

Instead of trying to do more with less time, I asked how I could replace the manual, repetitive tasks with intelligent systems. I began studying tools and technologies that had once felt out of reach:

  • Python for automation
  • JavaScript and Apps Script for browser-based logic
  • SQL for data handling
  • HTML/CSS for building dynamic interfaces
  • Google APIs for Sheets, Docs, Drive, Calendar, and more
  • Chat GPT, API, Meta AI, Gemini for content generation, Image generation, and video generation

I didn’t want to reinvent the wheel—I wanted to make it turn on its own.

There are already amazing tools for writing, publishing, scheduling, and analysis. But jumping between them, updating each manually, and making sure everything was connected? That was draining. I realized what I needed wasn’t just a set of tools. I needed a unified system built for my workflow.

Building the Brilliant CMS: One Sheet to Rule Them All

Image 3

In early February 2025, I started building a custom Content Management System (CMS) tailored specifically for BSC. Unlike traditional CMS platforms that serve the masses, mine was designed to serve one goal:

Automate every backend process that doesn’t need human creativity.

At the heart of this system is something surprisingly simple: A single Google Sheet.

But don’t let the simplicity fool you. This sheet is the dashboard for an entire automation engine:

  • Enter a blog name or idea → GPT generates a draft
  • Manually update the article and maker it as “ready” → document converted to HTML
  • API triggers → generate AI-based images, video thumbnails, metadata, slug, etc.
  • Using the SEO → details to draft articles on websites and social media platforms
  • Schedule dates → Google sheet contains scheduling dates for websites, LinkedIn, YouTube, posts and more
  • Video generation Automation process → In Process

All with minimal manual intervention.

Why I’m Sharing This Now

This article isn’t just a story of my burnout or recovery. It’s an index—a live roadmap of what BSC is building and where we’re headed.

Expect this article to evolve. As new features roll out, new automations come online, and more experiments are documented, this post will grow into a living guide.

Key Themes: What This Journey Taught Me

1. Frustration is the Foundation of Innovation

If I hadn’t hit a wall, I wouldn’t have stopped long enough to seek a better way. This is like breaking out of the shell that makes us uncomfortable and compels us to grow. Innovation doesn’t always come from inspiration—it often comes from the desire to do better.

2. Pursuit for Freedom

Freedom is not a goal but a pursuit. My pursuit is to have time aside from BSC to pursue other projects. Hence, I define freedom in two categories. Financial Freedom and Schedule Freedom, simply to invest and pursue bigger projects that satisfy my curiosity and help the lovely community connected with BSC.

3. AI Isn’t the Answer—It’s the Assistant

No matter how better an AI becomes there is nothing that beats human creativity and desire. This is why I use Chat GPT, Meta AI, Gemini, ect. For the repetitive tasks that they can do well. Still the output they produce is nowhere close to the desired output. Hence, manual human intervention is always required. Still using AI to eliminate bottlenecks is a good idea. Drafting, summarizing, formatting, SEO—AI clears the road so I can focus on vision and execution.

4. BSC is a Long-Term Game

This isn’t a side project. It’s a 10+ year mission to reshape how supply chain professionals learn, build, and share. As the main content discussed will be related to supply chain and technology and solutions assisting these massive projects. Every tool, every article, every automation is a step toward that goal.

What to Expect Next

This is just the beginning. Future projects you’ll see from BSC include:

  • ✅ End-to-end blog publishing automation
  • 🎥 AI-generated video content from scripts
  • 📈 SEO metadata automation & analytics integration
  • 🧑‍🏫 Certification-ready course development pipelines
  • 🔧 Tools for creators to automate back-end tasks
  • 🔄 Real-time scheduling synced across platforms

And all of it will be documented here.

Final Thoughts

I didn’t build this system because I wanted to automate.
I built it because I didn’t want to give up.

If you’ve ever felt buried by your own goals, if you’ve ever wondered how to turn passion into something scalable—this journey is for you too.
Thanks for being part of it.
